Risks

Eight out of Nine Carriers

will not develop symptoms nor test for COVID-19

They will remain asymptomatic and recover on their own. However, they still run the risk of bringing the disease to the vulnerable.

Four out of Five Positive Cases

will experience mild symptoms and recover on their own

Children under 18 usually bounce back after a few days, unless they have other pre-existing medical conditions.

One out of Five Positive Cases

need hospital care

The following people are more vulnerable and would likely need hospitalization:

  • people over 40,
  • people with weakened immune systems, and
  • persons with pre-existing medical conditions (such as high blood pressure, heart disease, lung disease, cancer or diabetes)

One out of Six Positive Cases

will become critical

Young people with compromised immune systems due to overwork, lack of sleep, and stress may still run the risk of becoming critical.

In fact, overworked health workers are at high risk of becoming critical due to lack of sleep, continuous shifts, high stress, and weakened immune systems.
